- 1 lb cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup Alfredo sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package pizza dough
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut it into circles.
- Place a generous amount of the chicken mixture on one half of each dough circle.
- Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
- Brush the tops of the calzones with the beaten egg.
- Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the filling for extra flavor.
- Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
- Calzones can be frozen before baking; just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from frozen.
