Description
This Apricot Dijon Spiral Ham is a succulent centerpiece, boasting a crispy, caramelized exterior that gives way to tender, juicy meat. The sweet and tangy apricot glaze, combined with the sharpness of Dijon mustard, creates a flavor experience that is both comforting and sophisticated.
Ingredients
Scale
- For the Ham:
- 1 fully cooked spiral-cut ham (8–10 pounds)
- For the Glaze:
- 1 cup apricot preserves
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Place the spiral-cut ham in a roasting pan, cut side down.
- In a medium saucepan, combine apricot preserves, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and ground ginger. Heat over medium until melted and well combined, about 5 minutes.
- Brush half of the glaze over the ham, ensuring it seeps between the slices.
- Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
- Remove the foil, brush with the remaining glaze, and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the ham is heated through and caramelized, reaching an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).
- Let the ham rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- This ham can be made a day in advance; simply reheat in the oven at 325°F (163°C) for 30 minutes before serving.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- For a lower sugar option, substitute apricot preserves with sugar-free fruit spread.
