Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water gradually until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a circle and transfer to a baking sheet.
- Spread the pumpkin mixture in the center, leaving a border around the edges.
- Arrange the apple slices on top of the pumpkin mixture.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pleating as necessary.
- Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Notes
- Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
- Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
- Feel free to add nuts or raisins for extra texture.
