Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add ice water gradually until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a circle and transfer to a baking sheet.
  6. Spread the pumpkin mixture in the center, leaving a border around the edges.
  7. Arrange the apple slices on top of the pumpkin mixture.
  8. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pleating as necessary.
  9. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
