Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, and apple cider until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fill the donut pan with the batter, about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and apple cider until smooth.
  9. Dunk the cooled donuts into the glaze and let them set on the wire rack.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For a stronger apple flavor, reduce the amount of flour slightly and increase the apple cider.
