Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the apple cider, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using a small cookie scoop, drop the batter into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown.
  6. Remove the donut holes and drain on paper towels.
  7. Roll the warm donut holes in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
