- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the apple cider, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a small cookie scoop, drop the batter into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown.
- Remove the donut holes and drain on paper towels.
- Roll the warm donut holes in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
